How much are you worth? Career-wise? I did a survey on monster.com and it said i should be makin ~$43,000 /year. I only make $20,800, plus whatever from McD's. Think I should look for a new job? All I do now is help-desk support for a dial-up internet company here in AZ. Edit - content.salary.monster.com/?opt=7There's the link to the calculator. - Tom

WHAT THE FUCK do you do?? God man,, can I come work with you? I'm in North Phoenix!! Well, it was a luckying opening in the government as a 1099 contractor. I build datacenters of IBMs, HPs for windows 2003 and SUSE. I was recruited having my resume on Monster.com. There are ppl who make twice the money I make and they are Oracle and MS SQL DBAs. My friends makes 96 dollar per hour and he's a Lotus Note Designer. Go figure.

I'm upset ~ my friend just showed me his letter of Offer for $$$$$$ for a Linux System Project Leader.
As I read his offer. Starting annual $115,000.00 with a 2%increase every 6months.. Darn it ~ he put in his two weeks.

So Joel...you're making approx 90K a year designing database systems for the IRS? C'mon man. They've been using mainframe technologies since the 70's...and it hasnt changed. One of my best friend's mothers works as a contractor for the IRS, and theres NO job for simple system contruction that pays out that much. And with only a high school education? No way. The qualifications for jobs like that START with CCNP certifications.

I'm gettin' dicked by at least $2/hour. I make $10/hour as an entry-level designer in SD. I figure most of my colleagues are closer to the $27k mark, or at least $25k. I could really use that money.

9600: Why would one need a CCNP for designing databases? Databases and routing are not the same....
