I'm new to the board, but I've decided to share a possible project that I might undertake, if I can find the nessasary stuff. I'm thinking about taking that really nifty adjustable seat out of a junked GT-S or GT-Four and turning it into a computer chair. Might be heavy, but it'd be rather comfortable. Anyone else have any ideas?

Your computer needs to sit down? Maybe you're working it too hard! ....The passenger's side weighs 43 lbs. The driver's side is probably a little more with the adjustable lumbar and bolster stuff on it. Guessing around 50 lbs. Don't ask me why I know this...

Damn, are the GTS/Alltrac seats really that heavy? My GT's seats can't be more than 20 a piece, even with the lumbar.

d**n, are the GTS/Alltrac seats really that heavy? My GT's seats can't be more than 20 a piece, even with the lumbar. All Trac *everything* is heavy.. I know they had to make it strong for rallying and all, but they're not dainty beasts. My roommate makes fun of the fact that the Toyota factory exhaust for ST165 has about a 2-lb counterweight on it.. That's right, a counterweight just after the second cat. The downpipe I pulled out of my car weighed like 40lbs. They found some heavy parts to go into our cars.

Yeah... tell me about it. I grabbed the figure of about 18kg from a British '165 site I can't recall at the moment, so it's a little over 40 pounds for the downpipe. It was a major pain getting that thing back in after the turbo rebuild, I tell ya. But, I'm grabbing an Aussie DP as soon as I can. Ten pounds versus 40. But, as far as the seats go... I'm not a very, well, on-the-go person, and as such the chair will pretty much be sitting as-is. Kinda heavy, though, but I don't plan on having the lumbar work or anything... hehe. But, that plan's on the back burner for the moment; my '165 is giving me some issues I need to take care of first. At least it's running now, after 'bout a year sitting at my curb.

Still try it, cool to have a one of a kind seat. -Andy. Yeah, it would be cool. I'll save the seats then and try it. Maybe make the back seat into something like a small couch or something

Now that would be cool. -Andy. I'm pulling the back seats out tomorrow, I'll look and see about making them into a couch type thing. Gotta love parts cars ;D
