It would probably be just fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for much more than short blasts. You might want to freshin up your engines internal parts before getting to radical with the NOS. racerb

Nitrous is a form of forced induction. This thread should be moved to the appropriate forum.

Nitrous has nothing to do with forced induction, ie: turbos and/or superchargers, it is mearly a fuel inhancer, much like octane booster. Most people that run nitrous are doing so with NA engines anyway so it is quite appropriate for it appear right here. I have lots of freinds who run nitrous but would never want to use turbos or superchargers. racerb

why is it rice? it provides a cheep way to add instant hp. and where i live there are so many civics w/ a muffler(not a full exhaust) , an intake , rims, and body kit and they think that they r the kins of the streets. my car has a close chance being stock but i think a little bit of nitrous isnt rice and would waste the civics.

I was messing...but I do agree with you on the cheap HP and, well get it so you can show up the civics or let me run my GT-S by them.

I still do not see how it could be listed as forced induction when it is just a vapor being injected into the intake and/or throttle passanges, just like air or fuel is injected. If that were the case, then would not fuel injection itself be concidered forced induction, it is highly pressurized, more so the standard fuel delivery. The last time I checked Nitrous was a gas, not a machanical compressor, ie: turbo/supercharger. racerb

my dad and i have built drag engines for a long time and if your going to run any kind of nitrous at all your going to want to beef up your internals, headgasket, pistons, piston rings. My supra runs a 300 to 500 HP shot of nitrous on a direct port fogger system and nitrous will raise your engine temp almost instantly, it burns 80x hotter than regular fuel so you might want to beef up your cooling systems too and your oiling systems. But since its such a small shot 35 to 75 i would recomend a piston, headgasket, and rings job for your car and if possible try to get it in a dry for of nitrous, not wet or fogger systems they tend to be geared towards more high powered engines. Good luck.

Thank for the clearification on this subject, it is an area that I have only delt with through my old street racer buddies. But your advice echoes what I said origanely, an upgrade and/or freshining up of interanels might be needed.
