... You're a moron, plain and simple, and don't know what you're talking about. And this reply has nothing to do with whether or not I want to make money off this thing, it's just true. going a little overboard are we?? I didnt call you a moron dude. I'm reporting that post to the mods why would anyone with a honda that is going turbo swap the map to either a blockoff or go to standalone..? because it sucks. the afm is tunable dood. just pop the cover and tune the a/f ratio yourself. there is a little gear on the inside and you turn it clockwise for a richer mixture and counter-clockwise for a leaner mixture

I don't even know how to reply to that. All I can say is - have fun with your AFM. Enjoy the nice restriction and your blanket all-airflow tuning mods. Don't call me when you blow your engine up. *thumbsup* I'm gonna have fun getting rid of the bitch and having my own custom tuning maps.

I'm interested, 2 kits for me if possible. What do you plan on using for the map sensor itself?

Why not spend money on a standalone? Because all the good celica standalones start at 1400$ and go up from there. ~100-150$ is something of a far cry from that. Surprisingly enough, the stock MAP sensor that comes on alltracs works perfectly. Instantly responds. I don't have a GT around here to look at to know if the GTs/STs have the same MAP sensor hooked up. In any event, looks like there's a good deal of interest here alone, much less on the alltrac and MR2 boards. Suspicion confirmed, and development continuing as fast as I can.

Could we put a supra AFM on are cars? I dunno....I can see if it will work on my 87 for you. mine is off of an 85 supra....is massive and doesnt require an afm adapter to install an open air filter. check this website out codingparadox www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.htmldid some more research on swapping to map on our cars. and found that: The MAP sensor outputs are meaningless to our EFI system. And MAP needs programmed tables to correlate the vacuum signal to an amount of airflow @ a certain RPM. I found out some other crap too.

Supra AFM will have different numbers than the ECU expects, so it'll be messed up if you try to use it.

You can argue with him all you want, but the fact of the matter is the man's doing it for an academic project and is offering it his technology to the Celica community. Quit your bitching. You don't have to buy it, and the damn thing's never even been tested yet. Since he's making one anyway, let's wait for the test results before we start slamming the idea. Summary: take a feckin chill-pill and get off the man's ass. Your criticism isn't going to keep him from getting this done.

wouldn't a MAP conversion also allow you to turbo the 3sfe safely...or does the MAP conversion not allow you to change the TPS to allow for more than 3 positions(even if you have to upgrade the TPS)? It would be nice if we could get something to allow us to turbo our 3sfe's without spending an arm and a leg swapping in a 3sgte.
