Well, it's been awhile since i've been here. It's time for me to start the prep. work on the Celica. I need to know what you need, to get rid of rust (techniques using bondo), sanding the paint down to metal (grits and such), and removing anything that needs to be removed before it goes into a paintshop.

sandblast all rust, fill small holes with fiberglass reinforced bondo, fill large holes with sheet metal/tack welds. Sand, bondo, sand, bondo, sand. Sand all paint down with 320 grit or maybe 280 until dull (air sander works excellent for this). Remove everything you have the time for (I don't bother with glass but grille, lights, spoilers, some trim [carefully, optional] mirrors, etc) More sanding.
Paintshop will probaby do the rest ---> Prime entire car with high build primer, touch up tiny spots with finishing putty, sand entire car down again with 320. Paint, clear if specified.
Just my opinion but I think it looks dead sexy with the side mouldings removed, and the bumpermouldings painted to match, this provokes a problem with the side marker lights on the front fenders, you can remove them completelt and fill the holes, or leave them and just that one piece of moulding on, or put a whole different light in there (what I did) Or leave all the moulding on and paint it too, it all depends on what you want to do.

if your gonna paint the moldings, dont do it all ghetto, remove them and paint under them, than paint them and use black 3m molding adhesive and readhear them.
