Here's the situation: My 89GTS' (non-ABS) driver's front caliper bleeder screw is broken off inside the caliper and can' t be bled. My g/f's car has a good caliper so I want to swap them.
My question is: After I put the bad caliper on the g/f's car, will I be able to bleed the other 3 bleed screws so that the system is safe and won't feel spongy? I'm asking cuz her car's gonna be written-off but I may have to drive it to the insurance place.

wow thats gonna be a problem Lets see , if you do bleed your other 3 brakes, there is still gonna be dirty fluid in that line. Have you tried vice grips to try to remove the bleeder screw?

Nothing left to grip. Tried vicegrips, EZ-outs, drilling. I'll just have to get a rebuilt caliper later on....

I`m pretty posite it will be kinda safe to drive. Only thing thou, it will pull to the right when you brake because of less pressure going to your left caliper. You probaly will have some spongyness but not to much to prevent you from stopping. Just make sure to test your brakes in the driveway before going public

u cann bleed that caliper but u loosen the screw that holds braking line on the caliper and the air would come out (i did that on my yamaha because the same problem) And to solve problem try to find and buy special drill that is used for taking out broken screws, its lock it self into the screw and them u turn it counter clockwise to unscrew it, (the drills spiral has the spiral made in the other direciton that normal drill) Or u cann yust drill it out and cut new threads into calipers (the same sa they were before, to "clean it basicly" off that little piece that has left inside . damn i need a beer after so many grafems typed

Messy, but clever, thanks. Maybe I'll give the EZ outs another try too. I never have much luck with them

Well, I had other problems so I took my car off the road and didn't bother with the caliper swap idea. Next day off I'm gonna work on it and see what I can do! I'll post up again later. Thanks for the help.
