Hey
I need Help on which SuperCharger to use for my newly Rebuilt 3sge Gen 1 JDM motor engine
Im chooseing over the sc12 4agze supercharger and the sc14 supra supercharger
both of them are going for a cheep price on a auction website right now.
What do you think i should use people have said the sc12 would be the safest option but have less power and may over heat while other people have said the sc14 would be better as it would give more power gain than the sc12 and was designed for a 2 liter so will not but any strain on the supercharger when in use on a 3sge. but im worred it will be too lowerfull for the 3sge and maybe blow it apart were as the sc12 could be the safest .
Tell me what you recon cheers

3sge 1st can handle 250HP with stock internals. If you going to rebuild your ge first like I am doing (jeremy and mike just dropped off the engine which is now sitting in my garage) go with the sc14. Im taking the turbo route from ge to gte ~ Im shooting for 300 HP. Just remember ` that stock hood wont do. You better find ways to cool your engine compartment. watch the race at buttonwillow ~ turbotrdcelica.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=motorsports&action=display&thread=1113328932the integra driver had to turn on his heater to help keep the engine cool. Worse if you have stop and go traffic more than 20miles. I would look into aftermarket intercoolers and hoods and, emmm racerb's fender extendor.*Hint. You will be safe with sc14. What power gains are you epxecting before / after internal mods?

Thanks for you help Yes my 3sge is rebuilt however i think all the parts were only replaced with band new stock parts or parts that are from non toyota brands however unsure if they are afyermarket or standarded. Anyway the engine has been balanced etc and pistions and rings and mint and new but are stock i think however they have been coated with teflon coating??. There is a sc12 and intercooler complete package going for $250 nz wow So im thinking of getting this because if i bolt this up to my 3sge and fab it up I would probley not have to lower compression (maybe unsure) or mgiht hav to but anyway i no that the sc12 should run ok with my internal if they are stock rebuild parts if you get my point. For cooling they are selling the stock intercooler with it but you say and i think you are right i probley wont be big enough so i was thinking about putting a bigger intercooler onto it if i use the sc12 also if i wont more power after this i could allways do a pully upgarde on the sc12 or do you think this is not a good idea. Ive been thinking also about mild turboing the 3sge like you however my engine is rebuilt ,balanced prted etc mint really but the parts are only telflon coated but stock so i gatherd that the turbo option would not be a good idea. please help me out your info before was great what are you doing with you 3sge turbo project?? Are you plaing on only turboing it to around 240hp so you could possible use stock internals ? if i were to turbo mine i would probley use a turbo charger and intercooler setup that lets me run stock internals (whcih i hav decribed above) in a safest way Anyway cheers

I think you are much safer going with a supercharger on stock internals than you are going with a turbo, turbo's put out a shitload of heat. Superchargers don't I would go with a SC14, the SC14 is not going to produce more boost or anything it's just bigger so it flows more. the more flow the more power. I am going to be using a Toyota Previa Supercharged van SC14 on my 20valve 4a-ge corolla with a Garret GT25 turbo, it's going to be twincharged 4age 20valve corolla. ONly reason I am doing both is to be unique & to have the wow factor. I expect close to 300hp fully tuned. But with stock internals deffinately go supercharged & put a metal headgasket on it like a cometic or a HKS. & headstuds. I am building Joels engine.
