From talkin to Jeremy.. I'm considering painting my own car. I just don't know how in the WORLD how do it. I have a can of spray paint that I'm plannin to paint my exhaust and valve cover, and some other things with, but for my whole car in general. Is this something I can do with like a air compressor in my garage? Or do I need like a custom made booth to paint in?

you need a good compressor, I have several nice like $500 spray guns & you will need a make shift booth to do it right visquine, A EXHAUST FAN, & DUCT TAPE WILL WORK GREAT. painted close to 50 cars now so I know what i'm doing.
NO WAY IN HELL DO YOU EVER RATTLE CAN YOUR CAR THAT IS JUST DISRESPECTFUL

Only time I have ever used rattle cans is when I went down to the PPG paint supplier & asked them to mix me 2004 corvette z06 blue & they pumped it into a spray can for me & I painted my engine bay that way because where I painted it I could not use a loud air compressor.

a spray bomb will work just fine for small parts and engine bay stuff.....if it is done right, it takes a certain technique as well. But for larger stuff it will never come out even

I have a can of spray paint that I'm plannin to paint my exhaust and valve cover, You'll need a high heat spray paint for those, and they have to be prepped right, sand them with 320+ grit and then wipe them with acetone or a heavy duty thinner and allow to evaporate/dry

can't lose anything but a few bucks and a few minutes by trying. Its only a manifold cover, I've sprayed mine a couple times already, if you screw up just sand er back down and try again
