Alright guys, I want to know which car you would choose. I'm not worried about price or reliablity, I just want to go fast and have good handling. ;D If you have another car that goes fast and handles decent for under 5k, let me know. That's why the something else option is up there

I'd pick a 1st or 2nd gen. RX-7 1st gen is n/a, of course.. 2nd gen, I'd take it boosted with a side of torque. -Jason

But if I can find the Talon for the right price, I'll go DSM. Just kind of depends on what's available and for sale when I have money.

I say save yourself the trouble of swapping a 3S-GTE into a GTS and just get an All Trac! Yeah, they're heavy, but own one and you'll understand. : ]

I'm with Jimlau on this one... if you want fast, turbo AWD, and are looking for JDM... I'd go with an ST165 or (money forbidding) ST185. Talons/Eclipses are notorious for tranny/driveline problems. They might be a little (read: very little) quicker than the GT-Four stock, but if you're looking to modify, the Celica's a much stronger platform car. If you're also looking at other manufacturers and wouldn't mind a larger car, I'd also suggest an '86-'88 Audi 5000 CS Turbo Quattro ($1000-3000 range) or '91 200 Quattro ($4000-$7000 range). The '91 in particular is actually faster than the stock ST165/185(a little heavier, but with @220hp), can handle a good deal of power increase, and is loaded with more technocrap than your average corporate jet ;D In any case, I'd personally reccomend an ST165, but that's just me.
