Well, I noticed a previous post about the pacesetter headers and you guys said they were garbage due to what they are made of, but I had a few questions about those headers and stuff.
1) Would a "High-tempered Metallic-ceramic coating" make any difference? I know the ones I see for sale on e-bay all the time have that option(for extra $ of-course).
2) If it(coating) does make a difference(i.e. prevents it from rusting so quickly) do these headers have the O2 sensor hookup? I noticed the auctions all say "Does NOT have hook-ups for smog and engine management sensors." but doesn't the 3sfe require the O2 sensor to run correctly...or at least legally in a DEQ controlled area? Or do I need to modify the headers to fit the O2 sensor or what?
3) Also, how easily do the 3sge headers bolt up to the 3sfe, and does it have the O2 sensor connector, etc? and do you know where I can find the stock 3sge headers...noone's selling them on ebay currently.
4) Last question....Are there any high-flow cat's made specifically for the 3sfe that fit right after the header like the stock one...or do I need a custom downpipe installed and replace the cat with one further down the line?
I know it's quite a few questions...but I'm mostly looking for what I have to do to upgrade my 3sfe's entire exhaust from the manifold back, not just the cat back. Thanks.

The problem with the Pacesetter header is that it's build in a mass produced manor, ie: cheaper materials. It's biggest problem is that it's tubing size is way to small and also way to thin. Coating it might help reduce it's early demise, but it's still going to fall apart eventually, usually burning hole at thin spots near welds and around the collector itself. The only real benefit to these headers is that their relatively cheap, so you could replace them, whenever they're starting to fall apart. If you decide to purchase one, just don't ever rap it with header rap, as this will make it rust and burn out quicker. racerb

I have the pacesetter. You will need custome fittings with the OS/2 to your headers.. Os/2 plugs dont align up by 1/5th inch. So get your drill out. From the collector to stock downpipe at 1 5/8ths" stock needs to replaced with 2.5" piping -"Mandel something" and you will need to replace your stock flex pipe. Its very restrictive and will be the first to burn open in your exhaust system. Had my headers since last year w/o cermic paint - they get so hot they turn metallic blue. Every 14days I wiped the headers with a light oily rag. Have they broken in the seams or welds- no.... and I shift up to 7000RPMs. I use hotter spark plugs used on a 3SGTE. Pacesetters make good headers - there isnt anyone else in the bucket per price and availability. One more - they dont make your car loud and if they do you need new HI CAT and Muffler. I use flow masters and it exhaust sounds like a stock 4 banger. . PS. The size of the collector on the Pacesetter headers is 2.5" 4 to 1.

So get your drill out. so you're saying the pacesetter headers DO have the O2 holes, but it doesn't align properly? and I guess...so when I install the pacesetters, if i do...I shouldn't replace the heat shield or what do I do for that? I guess the pacesetters are probably the way i'm gunna go, them being only like 180 bucks...then i can prob get a complete cat + muffler and tip(although I love the tip i've got now but i don't know If it'd be good to keep, it's probably around 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter) for 200ish and probably an install for another 100-200, although i'm just estimating. Maybe even on the low side

Maybe even on the low side Yes - it has the same matching ports as your OS/2 is in now your car.Throw it away. You dont want to block headers. See my webpage .... plus it wont fit. When you do get new headers - get new engine studs to hold them inplace. (and use anti-siege for new studs.) Your headers come with paper gasket but you will need steele gasket. I got mine from the Toyo dealer. Btw - YOU WILL NEED JEREMEY'S HOOD DESIGN!!!! Or, like SCHMOOTS or mine to vent heat away Yeah they make alot of heat. So like racerb said - dont wrapp headers it wont help.PS. Using these Pacesetter headers - you will drop 70pounds off your engine.

I see what you mean about the hood...It really sucks not having a garage or the know-how to do something like that...i suppose i could get a shop to do that hood vent for me too. Also, what's up with the wrap you have on your headers? is that an experiment or something?
