Alright guys, it's finally come down to this. I have this GE that's quite screwed up, so badly that I'm not sure how it ran. Anyways, I've come to the proverbial fork in the road on the issue of what to do.
Option 1 - Rebuild what I have.
Option 2 - Put what I have back together and call Orient Engine and get a new long block.
The question is, which one do I want to do?
My engine, as it stands, needs these parts: Gasket Set New bearings Piston Rings A Good Cleaning Possibly Valves Other misc. items
A new long bock from Orient has everything up to the valve covers, and they would expect the same in return for a core exchange. With the exhange, I can get a rebuilt GE for 1484 + Tax. No shipping, as I will be able to pick it up.
The question is, which one is going to be cheaper in the long run. The car as a whole list of problems with it, but it'll be back on the road with this plus a new clutch.
Ideas?

Rebuild what you have with upgraded parts. ;D
But the longblock route would probably be the best.

Rebuild it yourself, and learn as you go, it's got more benefits than you know. But if you get in over your head and can't get it back togather, then Orient is your best choice without going the JDM route. racerb
