Well, I was just wondering if it's:
A: Going to work, and if it will, how extensive a modification would it require. Probably the whole wiring kit?
B: Will it do anything if it worked, that's, of course, with respect to the overall performance of the car, including, but not limited to, fuel efficiency, power and torque output, engine longevity.
Right now, this is all in theory. It came about when I was reading a thread about how to get 220hp out of a 3SGE, and the first person to respond suggested using a 5SFE ECU. So, I was thinking what would happen if you were to put the 5SFE ECU into it's older counterpart, the 3SFE.
Thanks for reading my thread, and more thanks if you posted a response.

It will not work without extensive modification.
Just buy a 5S-FE and boost it. Probably around the same cost.

well what you need to do it is.
5S harness, ECU, ignitor, distributor, coil, injectors, MAP sensor, & all the sensors off a 5S-FE, so if thats available at a U-Pull it yard for cheap & you know how to wire swaps then you can pull it off, you will gain about 10-15hp, & can get rid of the annoying Air Flow meter.
