okay, I'm looking at like 3 different options for an intake, and I'd like to get your opinions about them. The first one is for an air intercooled intake, obviously the worst of the 3....The second is a water-to-air intercooled intake...I think is probably the best choice, but can be pretty expensive...and the 3rd one I've seen is this thing called CryO2, where I can get an intake tube with a bulb that gets Co2 passed through it to cool the intake charge. They all seem pretty interesting, and the 3rd option I can get like purge valves, which may be kinda lame but I think it'd be cool. Has anyone of you tried any of these on an NA setup, and if so what kind of performance increases have you noticed?
On a side...I seen fuel "bar's" for the Cry02...what's the point in having a cooler fuel charge? I'm a little confused on that...I'd imagine it would freeze the fuel solid.

I dont get it, are you talking about an intercooler for a turbo or just a air intake for NA.

Sounds to me like he's talking about making an intercooler type setup for an NA car, which is something I've never heard of. I don't know if it would help or not, or if the benefits would be worth the cost.
As far as your question about why cool the gas and air, cooling them makes them more dense, which allows you to pack more into a smaller area. More gas and air packed into the cylinder upon firing gives you more power.

my thoughts exactly...turbo intake cooling on an NA...have any of you tried this and gotten any noticable results? I'm really considering the water-cooled intake possibly...
I've also seen the water injection that injects a mist of water INTO the intake, but those systems are boost activated which makes them useless in an NA setup.... in case you're wondering, it's the 3sfe I have.
I'm also thinking of possibly putting in a home-made hair-dreyer supercharger but I'll save any questions about that for the Forced Induction forum.

Like I said, I highly doubt any of that will give you any results that are worth the money you'll spend for it. Especially the hair dryer supercharger. All that would probably do it slow down and disrupt the air flow of the motor. You'd be better off just putting on a standard intake.
