Does anyone know of a good tire, that's also relatively inexpensive, for auto-cross racing? I've looked at the tires at tirerack, and they have a lot of choices, but don't have any experience with these tires. I'd like to keep it below $100.00 each if possible. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

well we need to know tire sizes I would say hands down best tire is the FALKEN AZENIS SPORTS In a 215/45/16 they are $99 my cost through discount direct. I am ordering some once I get my 16" rims. Yokohama makes some good ones too.

Jeremy's probably right about Azenis. Falken makes a couple of flavors of Azenis, and they are supposed to be quite good for the money. There are much better tires, but you'll spend much more for them, and they won't last as long.

Hey man, I run the Falken Azenis Sports on my '87 GTS in auto-x. I'm currently running the 195-60-14s and have had much success, finishing 3rd in my last event, running against Minis, Acuras, and Subarus, most on R compound tires. I got my Falkens from Discount Tire, for $53 a tire, a hellava deal in my book. Just go to www.tires.com for a complete list of sizes and prices. racerb

I like the Azenis, but I have to keep the love for the Yokohoma ES100 or the Parada Spec-2. You could go all the way and buy some Hoosiers!!

Falken makes some nice tires, but they only offer 1 tire in the size I am looking for. I have 15 X 7 rims and am looking for a 195-50x15, the Ziex ZE512. I'll have to keep looking.

Hankook Ventus R-S2

Hey I'm not really sure about the Hankook tires, other than the Ventus Z211 R-compound tires, but their like $140 for a 15" tire. Are you looking for a tire legal for street tire class or can it be one of the R-compound tires, if you can use R tires check into Toyo RA-1s, their relatively cheap and last forever. racerb

The Ziex 512's arent bad tires are all. You do get what you pay for though with them. If you go Falken get the Azenis for sure. The new ones if possible.

The only Falken tire made in the size I need (want) is Ziex ZE512. Is this a "Azenis" tire?
