Hey guys just spent a good part of my weekend at Virginia International Raceway, working round 2 of our series, the Carolina Cup Pro Series. Man did we ever have a good turnout, we actually had 88 cars go out for qualifying, with 85 making the race. This was an all time record for our series, as we had 76 cars race there last March. The race was not without a little bit of contriversy, but all in all it went suprisingly well for such a large group. We also had a new sponsor come on board just hours before the race, as Safe-Quip race products joined our other sponsors including CV Produces, Raceworks, Appalachian Race Tire, and Amsoil. Safe-Quip was also our Fast Five Shootout sponsor for this race, where we pair the top five qualifiers with five of the event workers, for a chance at $100 cash, if one of the five drivers wins the race. It gives the workers someone they can chear for, and a little extra pocket change to boot. If you would like to see more about our series, go to (www.carolinacupproseries.com), we hope to be making improvements to our site in the very near future, but it gives you an idea of what we're about.

Wow a very good filed. Last time I ran the Celica in California Speedway, we had 74 cars start the race. And I thought that was somthing. 86 cars on the filed at once must of been one hell of a wheel to wheel racing.

Yeah one thing to remember, VIR is a 3.27 mile road coarse, so 80+ cars kinda get lost out there once they start spreading out. We could have started 92 with a Sterwards waiver, but we were glad we didn't have to. The two biggest classes in our race, were Specracer Ford and Spec Miata, we had 30+ SRFs and almost 30 SMs, the rest of the feild was made up of IT and Showroom Stocks. The Region is having a SARRC/MARRS shootout race in May, where we will us VIRs grand coarse for the first time, it's 4.2 miles in length, so they can run over 100 cars at a time. We usually have between 350-400 cars each day of the 3 day event. This weekend we had about 250 cars all togather, withall regional classes represented. racerb
