So... apperently Toyota is now attempting to get a foot in the Nascar Nextel Cup series... They are hopin to get in the 2006 season. Seems kinda strange IMO, but then again, their truck series drivers aren't THAT bad...

Might want to wait and see about that, Lee White head of Toyota Racing, said that Toyota is not ready to make the jump to Nextel Cup. He explained that their reason for entering the Craftsman Truck Series, was to push sells of the Tundra trucks, and that the only car they have legal, is the Camry. He stated that Camry sells are at an alltime high, so they didn't need to push that vehicle, but that could change. I for one hope they stay away, at least until Nascar gets their shit togather, as they can't seem to make any good calls as far as fines and penalties go, and it's getting quite comical. racerb

Maybe Toyota will start making GOOD cars again. The main Toyota plant is less than 20 miles from my house. How about you drive your 3rd gen up here, we drive over there, and then I'll let you tell them that.

Umm, most, if not all of the R&D for the USDM cars (Camry, Avalon, Solara) goes on at the plant. They also build the cars for the 'export' markets. You know, the ones with no emissions and all of the fun goodies.

I'm just really dissappointed in the 7th gen and lack of a sporty car in general. The MR2 is sporty.. but it's not good as a daily driver sporty car since it only has two seats and a mid-engine.. They NEED a car like the Celica.. everyone else has one.
