Does anyone here follow Formula One?
I certainly do, and I'm happy that Kimi Raikkonen is on pole for the Grand Prix of Great Britain.. It's about time the McLaren team got a decent result, and I like Kimi. Tomorrow should be an interesting race, and Shumacher isn't on the podium!

I heard that Shumacher has won most of the races this year so far. I dont really watch it to much, but I try to stay on top. I watch a lot of the WRC stuff mostly

every other sunday morning me and my dad have to tv and surround sound system tune to F1 racing, im kinda glad to see that toyota has gotten its game right so fast and now they *Might* be getting shumacher bro to drive for them. anyhow most of the races are always something not to be miss.
im also a big fan of the WRC (try to watch it when ever i remember its on) and also the dakar rally.

I find f1 and nascar racing, anything like that, quite boring...
The last 10 laps of ANY of those are always good, but I could never watch more than that at once...

From TV coverage of the Hockenheim Race (watched it on TiVo last night), it sounds like Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli are Toyota's drivers for next year. I'll be very curious to see how they perform, and how Toyota's cars get better. I also watch every WRC event, but I find the Dakar coverage much less entertaining.

if Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli join toyota i think well will be seeing them fighting down honda and BMW for the points. but i dont think we will see them at this stage for the next year or two.
as for the rally i remember this was the first place i fell inlove the EVO (it started with EVO III) but im sad to see that finishs the EVO is making for the last few years
also for DAKAR i watch it cuase i dont really know i mean i enjoy it but dont really know why i go back to it..mabybe its cuase it only shows once a year..
also i find myself watching & downloading a lot of JGTC and 5th Gear shows.. i was into drifting when it was an underground kinda thing but know im not into it as much.. maby i need a AE86 or a 180SX to get me back into it ;D

despite what they say, toyota's f1 woes are not due to drivers. blame christiano and olivier all you want but with drivers of that caliber it's silly to say they make the car look horrible. it's a bad car and that's that. and christiano got the short end of the stick. stupid, that. anyway...perhaps they'll do a good job on chassis development in the off season...and thus "prove" that their new drivers cured that old "bad driver" problem.... i'm all for kimi tho. but i'm a much bigger fan of wrc. and petter took it to ol' bastion there at the end of rally GB. toyota...leave f1...return to wrc (as peugot sport director provera hinted after rally japan)

First i would like to say. Toyota needs go get back into WRC and by the looks of it.. they might in a few years (3-4 years)..
now on to the F1 racing. First, yes toyota cars aren't all that good. but give them time i, mean they have only been in F1 for two years now.. and from what i see they have been doing good so far.. As for the point that was made that its not the drivers.. well there i have to say thats just bull.. i mean look at when M. Schumacher was with the Benetton team.. He had a crappy car but still manage to bring the wins..
as my dad have told me countless times... "you can buy a sports car.. but without knowing how to drive it, that car is almost useless"

and not every person in f1 is michael schumacher.
stick him in a minardi, and he won't be winning every race...
i'm sorry, but driver's don't get to f1 without knowing how to drive. and you can't place full blame on every driver that's gotten into a toyota f1 car and sucked. they are proven drivers. sure panis has never been spectacular, but he's won. da matta destroyed in cart...it was cart yes, but still that shows he has some amount of talent. before that there was mika salo, again, proven talent. maybe not michael schumacher, but definately a talented driver.
so, the point still stands. there is more wrong with toyota than just the drivers. just like there is more wrong with a pro football team than a bad (or not so bad) quarterback.

just thought i'd mention....jarno trulli...good driver. won monte carlo this year. drove for toyota last race. qualified well cuz of low fuel and such. then couldn't keep ppl behind him in the race...finished back in the same area as christiano and olivier usually do.
so is it the drivers? or the cars? i rest my case.
christiano was the scapegoat for a team that hasn't done what they should...especially with an endless budget. don't get me wrong...i like jarno alot. but i don't like people lying and putting blame where it doesn't belong just to try to save their own face.

Hey guys I'm not the greatest driver in the world, but I took an '84 Nissan Pulsar racing, and actually did quite well. The car never really stood a chance against the Honda CRX, Volkswagon Scirroco, or even the Datsun 510, but I was able to finish top 5 at most races. In fact one of my best races was for third in Savanah GA, where I battled all race long with a Scirroco driver . I eventually took third place and held it to the end. What I'm trying to say, is alot of times a good driver can make a so-so car look mighty good. I would truely love to see Toyota do well in F1, it's just that theres something missing from their program right now, but give them time and their sure to figure it out. racer

Your right a good driver can make a big differnce in road racing. My Celica is 2720lb and in my class the CRX are 2125lb. I bust my ass to keep up with them and somtimes I come on top, even tho my car should be around 8-10th place.
