Here's the deal. I have been in contact with a company that makes car vinyl, and also taillight vinyl. They are willing to produce a taillight vinyl for the 1988 Celica. This vinyl will cover the amber section of the taillight. The vinyl will be red to match the rest of the taillight, and give a really clean appearance. To make this happen I need five(5) people that will purchase this product. If you have any questions or comments please post them here. Here is the companies website. The vinyl for the Celica will be similar to the one on the Nissan 240SX pictured on their site. www.advanceg.com/product_info.php?cPath=41&products_id=473

It will be for a hatchback. No pictures because they still have to produce it. I will check on prices.

stupid question, what's the difference in the tails from 86 and 88? The 'material' that is used. The 86-87 is a duller finish with no shine, the 88-89 has a shine with a brighter finish. There is also differences with how the grill installs up front.

to red-out the tails, i suggest you guys just get sheets and do it yourself. You don't need a company to make a set just the celica. you can use red vinyl film (you find it for like 5-10 bucks at hobby stores ... ) but i would recommend Oracal 8300 series #031 (RED) transparent vinyl. instructions for maxima is here , but applies the same to every car: www.p0wned.net/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album12
