Hey, I live in QLD and don't have a Celica yet, except after searching around, I figured I want a 87-89 model Celica, which just happened to be a Gen 4. I wanna know how much everyone else here paid for their celica, so I know how much to save up. Ill have about $650 after my car sells, so please tell me how much yous all paid.

Hey there, Welcome to the boards Good to see another Aussie Im in tassie and I paid 2g's for my 4th gen, they sell from anywhere around 5-7 thousand down here but on the mainland you should be able to pick them up for 2-4g's. Also depeding on what motor you are gunna get, all-trac (gt4) are the turboed version (3s-gte) so they'd cost a bit more. I've got a 3sge myself and it has a fair bit of poke I'd recommend the gt4 or 3sge if you have a choice....

Hey MandiTRD. Aussies are a little rare on message boards eh? $2000 shouldn't be too much, I've got about 4 months till I can go for my P's, so I can save my money till then to get a celica. Their is something about the 4th Gen Celicas that just makes them so cool.

Yea lol cant say we dominate the boards Ah yeas just keep your eye open and your bound to find a good celica at a good price! Good luck with your p's to, I remember when I went for em, was awesome I fed him some bullshit that I was gunna get a little barina or something cos I didnt want too much power or anything! LOL Fast cars are frowned on down here with quite alot of the older generation.. Yep, 4th gen's do have a sleek subtlty about them.

Well, I've been searchin and found an 88 Celica, which is my fav year model, and it's up for $1200. It's in the local trading post, but I'm not sure what's wrong with it if it's only that cheap. I just gotta get some money now... No jobs where I live..

- Make sure it is rust free
- doesnt blow smoke
- check under oil cap for condensation (if it looks milky, head may be blown or have serious issues

Oh nice, definately worth checking out! * Check the k's its done, not saying that if its done alot its gunna be crap... just be mindful of how much its been driven. (Mines done over 300,000 but has had a 87 engine put in it 90 ks ago) * Ask them if there is anything wrong with it. Take her for a spin to see that theres no flat spots or knocking noises coming from under the hood or when you turn corners (possibly fucked CV joints), ah yea as said before check for rust. Make sure there's no leaks etc....

I have a FWD celica with a turbo swap & my car is hella fast & no one expects it to be that quick cause it's a old celica haha, took a Lotus Elise hands down just spanked him, he was amazed lol I was literally like 8 or 9 car lengths ahead of him. Beat a Corvette Z06 too. so the 3S-GTE powered 4th gen is very nice car. I don't live in Aussie, I live in the US but I got my first 88 ST for $1800 US in perfect condition with a freshly rebuilt 3S-FE. Then my second 4th gen is a 87 GT got it for $36 US, with a blown engine.

Before you buy a 4th gen, read the 4th Gen buying guide that's in the FAQ. At least I think it's in there. Lemme check.
