Well my rebuild plans for the 3sge have been changed! I just ordered a 1st gen JDM 3sge off of ebay! I also ordered the stage 1 racing clutch from Clutch masters and the aluminum flywheel. Ill have the engine soon enough, so any suggestions on what i should do to free up some power on this bad boy would be greatly appreciated!

you could use a 5th gen ECU and get rid of the MAF....i'm not sure if they work w/a 1st gen though. hopefully someone else can tell you. have you thought about getting the APEX'i S-AFCll or whatever its called? what about the TWM short shifter? are you gonna get one of those?

short shifter doesnt seem nessacary right now. Im soaking all my money into the motor right now, and for what the short shifter provides i doubt ill need it. Id rather spend the money on headers, or sumthing else for the engine.

I would advise you to stay away from the 5sfe conversion its a big pain in the ass. You have rewire all you gauges manually minus the speedo, and just over all isnt to easy. Use the 1stgen 3sge harness pref. I went back to it on my 2nd gen 3sge and its still pulling just as hard.

ahh well im gonna try and track down a jdm ecu, to go with my jdm engine. not get a 5th gen ecu
