Does anybody know where the stock water temperature sending unit is on the 3sfe? I am installing my gauge pod (ill post pictures when im done) and I cant find it. The Haynes manual i have doesnt tell me either....
on another note, if anyone needs an image hosting server for their 4thgen pics, let me know... I run a hosting company and would be more than glad to help everybody on this forum out!

If i'm not mistaking, its in the thermostate housing. Where the radiator "inlet" side it(going into the engine). It's a round plug.
I think!

I believe Andy is referring to the fan switch sensor. The water temp sensor and the water temp GAUGE sender are both on the water outlet housing that comes off the cylinder head. It's got like 4 sending units on it. The water temperature sensor connector is the vertical unit, closest to the cylinder head side. The water temp GAUGE sender is the last one, mounted horizontally, furthest away from the cylinder head. It is the top unit. You should check it by disconnecting it to see if the water temp gauge on your dash drops, then you'll know for sure you got the right one. Hope that helps

Actually, from what I understand.. On a 3sfe, there are two water temperature sending units.... one is on the waterneck where Rick mentioned.. it is a rectangular plug, actually.. and the other one is on the back of the block under the intake manifold (PITA to get to) which is, I believe, the one that is linked to the temperature gauge. I'm not positive, but pretty sure, that both sensors are the same part, but in different locations. -Jason

I know there are some sensors back there but I only recall the two on the waterneck. I'll double-check......

Not to get off-topic, but my first job I made 2.75 picking up golf balls back in 1978. Ut oh, I'm getting that geriatric feeling again. 9.00 a hour and I would have been driving a Porsche! ;D Guess it doesn't go as far these days, huh? Just make sure that asphalt is nice and sticky! ;D

"testing" is when i compact it and run a curve on it, to find the optemum moister on it. To tell them what they should do.
Fun shit, but long shit.
