If one were so inclined, anyone know how to loose the EGR and the e-vap? The computer would not like that to much I assume. Any tricks.

You could maybe swap in a JDM computer.. or a whole JDM engine..
If you were so inclined.. I suppose you could wire up resistors and stuff to fake input to the computer in lieu of sensors.

This doesn't sound like a "repair" to me.

well they aren't even on my jdm motor and it runs fine with my OEM ECU, so yes you can dump it but it won't change anything I don't think

removing the EVAP will not gain you any power whatsoever. keep the evap. The EGR just remove all the valve & block off the ports & you'll be just fine.

What EVAP is. Evap is a system that controls fuel vapor. when a Sealed fuel system goes through atmospheric changes it expands & contracts & pressurizes. In order to control that & to make sure the unburnt fuel vapors don't release into the atmosphere. They designed a canister filled with charcoal that absorbs the fuel vapor in the charcoal & then there is a vacuum controlled valve in the canister that releases the vapors into the intake manifold when so much pressure builds up. But it will only do this with the engine running. It was designed in 1963 & was made maditory in 1974 on all vehicle sold in the US, also in 74 EGR was made manditory by the EPA.

Well, it is all gone. Not much of a change but with all I have now done, the combo of CAI, port in and out, milled head w/bolts, gut cat and the turbo muffler, as well as a fine tune; I must say I would not have guessed it. It is really a bunch faster and sounds just a touch bad-ass. It's an auto that I have modified the shifter into a sort of sport shifter, and compaired to my 89 w/manual, it is still much faster. I knew the FE had something, just had to talk it out.

You didn't get rid of the EVAP system, did you? I'll be pissed at you if you did.

No.. that's not normal. When was the last time you've performed a full tune-up, including the oxygen sensor?

My car is my "girlfriend" right now so it get stuff all the time. Ox sen. is about 3mo. old. I replaced the cap and rotor w/wires of course 4-5 ago. I cant pin it down. Now the obvious might just be the case. I'm completely driving diff. due to the new get up and go. I gota admit A few simple cheap mods really brought out the motor. I pissed off a Civic that I was behind because every time he hit the rice pedal I would hang then get up way to fast behind him. Then he tried to leave me but I had yet to push it and I kept up easy. Who knew Celicas were real cars?! lol
