I want it black, with a good quality paint. I've heard 80-100 USD a gallon. Has anyone that has had their Celica painted tell me how many galons to cover her?

i only used half a gallon of paint when i painted mine, came out to be like 5 to 6 coats, it's the clear coat that you want a gallon, and also keep in mind that adding the reducer/hardener whichever applies, adds to the original volume of paint that you start out with

I bought 3 quarts for the tercel. And had enough leftover for another coat if I wanted. I haven't actually painted the celi yet but this time around I am getting a single stage paint that only requires two coats (the first one being very thick, almost running). So I should only need two quarts.
It depends on the type of paint too, they each mix with different ratios to the hardener and reducer. Most likely its 8:2:1, 8 parts paint, 2 parts reducer, 1 part hardener/activator.
For my tercel I got a middle-of-the-line quality paint and the paint alone was about 40 bux, then the quart of activator was about 60 then a gallon of reducer (it helps to get extra for cleanup, and its multipurpose as a powerful paint thinnner for removing all sorts of gunk off anything) was 20 bux. So a hundred twenty and I was all set. A real high quality paint retail and all the added chemicals should be between 300 and 500, and thats with lots leftover, or cut down on the paint and get some gloss/clearcoat. The clearcoat will just give it a wetter look, its purely your choice
