You would have to swap the heads to swap the cams. The FE cams aren't even close to the GE cams.

is it practical to swap an FE to GE head? Yes and no. You have to swap the electronics with the head, and you would have to fully convert to the GE electronics. It's like an engine swap without swapping the blocks.

aaaannnnddddd what head gasket would you use? just curious I thought that the blocks were the same, so you would use a GE head gasket. Am I right? Jeremy?

PLEASE. Help make this clear.
88gt FE = 115hp with a red line 6200??
GTS..GE= 135hp with a 7200 red line.
I getting a gts head w/cam. I'm looking to buy the intake with fuel rail. Now I also need the "electronics". What do I look for on e-bay? Name or parts#. I think I need the ext too? Any thing else to look for??
This is for a 4-banger dirt oval car....that has a $750 clam rule...so spending a lot of $$$ is a risk.
THANKS

you r goin to need the ECU,ignitor,and the injectors from the GTS, but the main thing is the wiring harness, but overall its afairly easy and cheap upgrade, just get the right intake manifold our it will give you a headache!!

You can get all the parts from a junkyard fairly easily.. at least, fairly easily for me when I'm back home in DFW, anyway. But it's easier to find the parts from someone with a parts car, as it'd be far cheaper. ECU, head, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, injectors, wiring harness, and um.. I think that's it. Let's not forget the gasket set, guys. That alone is not so cheap.
