I can't shift?? AHHHH!!!
This morning, I woke up, started the celi, let it warm up for like 10 min like I always do. I get in to drive away, and i can't shift into 1st gear? AT ALL! I ended up shuttin off the car and they startin again, and it worked.
It would occasionally grind between shits, but not much. Would this mean that it's time for new tranny fluid? Or what?

Did it feel like there was a wall? Not just like it would grind.. If so, it means it's time for a new clutch.

There was a goddamn CONCRETE wall there. But then it worked fine once the engine was warmed up enough.

Hey, I ran through the same thing. Then, after a few days, my car wouldn't shift at all. Check the tranny fluid. If it's good, then the clutch or pressure plate or even the flywheel is going. Your car will start acting up more and more. Try not to drive it too much, or over long distances. After I took off my tranny, and removed the pressure plate, the clutch disk came off and one of the four bearings fell right off.

I had the problem of not being able to put in gears, and reverse would crunch. I had a problem with my clutch tho...

Heh, told yah. Don't drive it even if it starts working. You'll need to be towed back. Labor itself costs about 400-600 for the job of replacing the clutch, pressure plate, and maybe flywheel. A new clutch kit costs about $110. Comes with clutch disk, throw-out bearing, and pressure plate. Buy a pilot bearing while your at it. AutoZone has it for about 8-10, but it has to be ordered. For some weird fuggin reason, Kragen's sells it for $60+.
If you have the time, do it yourself. I'd be done with mine if I had more time, but I don't. It's been sitting there for about 2 weeks now. I've got already replaced the parts, but I'm having a hard time getting the tranny back on. Good luck with it.

I'm gonna do it myself more than likely. Take it over to to my father-in-law's house and do it there. If he don't have the time to help me, I'll take it back to the shop that fixed the emmisions.

The detent bolt is the bolt that holds your shift assembly in & adjusts how tight or loose your shifts are.
check your fluid, if your fluid is still full, then more than likely a clutch. get ahold of me tim I can do you clutch for ya.

Fuck me.. Fluid is OK. I figure, while I have the damn engine out for the clutch, I'll do the valves, PS, and teh axles
