Does anyone know how to hook up an MSD 6A to an '88 Celica with a 3FSE motor? I'm not sure how to wire it with the "igniter".
Also, has anyone figured out a way to hook up an external coil, like an MSD blaster2 or something?
Thanks, Jim '88 Celica GT

Thanks, how about the MSD part? Well, mount it to the firewall, wire it to the battery, and ground it. Feed it to the ignition using the concept in the article.

Thanks for the reply, but the article doesn't address the pick-up on the distributor, just the coil. According to the wiring diagram in the Chilton's book, the ignitor feeds the power to the coil. I need to know how the ignitor works and how the wiring of the MSD will be integrated.

Well, nevermind. I found an article in the DIY section about testing your igniter and distributor. Apparently there are 2 pick-up coils feeding data into the ECU which determines the timing which send a signal to the ignitor which then signals the coil to fire. Unless the signal from the ECU or the ignitor emulates the sign from a pick-up coil, the MSD box can not be used. I was hoping someone had figured out a way around this.
