Well? Paint thinner and sandpaper???
I plan on painting my car myself....I have access to a barn with a compressor and a spraygun...and my car's paint is shiet...

best way is with a DA (dual action/orbital) sander strip it down with 80 grit sand paper down to primer, dont go all the way to metal if you can help it, then you have to seal it, then primer it, then wetsand, then primer, then wetsand, then guide coat, then wetsand, then 2 coats at least of base coat, then wetsand, then clear at least 2 coats, then bake it or let it dry for at least 24hrs then wetsand & use a 3M cutting compound.
paint job is a shitload of work to do it right.

True, but doing it myself will save about a grand, so I'm game...I can use an airbrush so a paintgun won't be hard...just a lot of labour, but it's going to a good cause ;D
