i just spun a bearing and now have a rod knockin. so now i need a new motor as soon as possible. is it easier and cheeper to put in the 3s-ge than the 3s-gte? and cant the 3s-ge be turboed? im still drivin the car cuz its all i have so any info would be helpful. thanks

3sge is cheaper all around. cheaper to own, cheaper to buy, cheaper to fix.. yeah..
and it can be turboed.

total the 3sge can be turboed however....... You have to fo the maths first work out if the engine can handle the boost your giving it somehow e.g if its 10psi on the turbo make sure it can handle it safly and if it can not (which im thinking might be the best idea) Lowerer the compression so that it will handle the giving psi. Also if you try to go anything past 10psi you might have problems with your pistions as they are stock and non coated etc so forged pistions could be an option. whatever you do just dont but the 3stge manafold onto your car because normaly if you do this without playing it safe first your engine wont last long. I recon its a good idea and when you get it working right should be a good engine (not that the 3sge n/a isnt allready )
