Someone said I must like jet engine. Apparently, I am not the only one. To date, it's the fastest monster ever, topping speeds of more than 200 mph. And its engine? A Rolls Royce Viper MK22 that generates 6,300 pounds of thrust. Sweet. • Jesse James, custom-bike builder/designer, West Coast Choppers, Long Beach, Calif. • Joe Ruggless, race-car driver, Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, Palmdale, Calif. • Marty Schwerter, Toyota Pro-Celebrity Celica project manager, Toyota Grand Prix, Huntington Beach, Calif. • Ralph Snider, jet-car builder and truck driver, Mcloud, Okla. • Jerry Segal, owner, Segal Motorsports, Las Vegas, Nev. • Ben Wood, fabricator and assistant manager, Monster Garage, San Jacinto, Calif.
Before the Jet Car build, the 2003 Celica had appeared in the Hog Dog Car episode, in the celebrity racing footage, driven by Jesse James. The build used 2 freebies, which violated the new garage rules. In addition, the $10000 jet engine broke the budget limit. In the day 7 challenge, the first run was 125mph, but the engine was on fire afterwards because of loose metal shaving; second run reached 185mph, 15mph short of the 200mph goal.
I swear our celica cars is the most re-ENGINEERED from manufacture. Who needs TRD.
