Shit guys if your thinking bout your building a GT4 theres a genuine ST165 gearbox on trademe!!!!!!! no engine tho BUT i think this may interest someone??? Yes our engines will dick on a US 3SGE our factory HP is 160 the "wrong side of the roaders" have only 135hp. Infact the JDM ZR celicas with the 3SFE have the same HP as the american 3SGE Its because ours are tuned up to run on higher octane petrol of about 92 i think whereas americans are tuned to run on 85 roughly.

Welcome to the board. Hmmm, I'm the 2nd owner of my GT from a previous German owner from overseas. How do I know if my GT is a ZR? I'm whoppn HONDAs already. I beat a 94 Integra VTEC modded last month - couldnt stay in my draft. I did loose to one w/ NOS. If you do have a ZR what does the VIN number start with? Minutes later.. I checked my VIN - its GT. N-e Ways. Not much difference btween Fe / Ge. As I see it. Differs of the Ge just came w/ an aggressive N/A setup. C'mon. Same bore and stroke at 1998cc? Once you improve Fe N/A it will do or best a Ge. Some may argue... but as you said, [ZR] are pretty fast. Also what makes a Fe so easy to mod is that is has OBD I. Celicas with OBD II is at the mercy of the ECU. Why, when it comes to changing any part N/A. MAPs have to be changed for a/f mixture ratios. emissions. Since I had my Fe - I have never, never ever used 86octane. Tuned for 93+, Sunoco if I can ever find on the interstate. I do about 300miles on full tank with reserve. I dont have a ZR but its nice to know a ZR existed with a 3sfe. Welcome to the board.

Shit you know your stuff!!! Well the GT in New Zealand is the NZ assembled GTR its identical to our GTRs but without the R on the badge and most of them have the black number plates as they were 1st regersted in NZ back in the 80's. One awesome thing bout the SFE's is they have better lowdown that the SGE's my mates ZR will spin the wheels if you boot it at 2000rpm....bloody TVIS crap you have to wait for that to kick in at 4200 before we get any zoomph hehe.

Well Im still learning-just a padawon. Jeremy and his peers have been a great helping me fine tune my Fe. Really, the N/A setup that helped the Ge was header design and down pipe - and improved head to breathe. If you notice the Ge setup came with a dual to one down pipe, a real plus.. Fe didnt. It's header had a fat drum Prim Cat of the exhaust header into a 1.5/8 diameter down pipe to a secondary cat. You couldnt suck a golf ball through there ~grape. I basically duplicated the Ge N/A setup, and balance N/A in/out. If it werent for the OBD I, I couldnt do any mods to increase HP. Why toyo make the Ge? Marketing. People rather buy new cars instead reinvest in re-engineering from a great car - ST162,165 platform. Right, 86er? Now, I can shoot Patatos.

yours could still be a Zr ive seen Gt celicas with the Zr 3sfe JDM in them its just the barge name thats were it stops
your engine could be the Zr (JDM 3sfe) but the bageds were changed to GT (usa standed when inported?) one way to easyly tell is if your engine is pinging (thats if you havent upgraded it to run lower octane or dont run higher octane in it ) because the JDM needs arouin 91-93 octane to not ping DOSENT it??
also the GTR is the GTS in the usa the both have the 3sge but are is JDM is it ? the reason i say this is because ive seen heeps of GTR s drivin in austraila also

hmmm i just checked my GTR was assembed in NZ?? i had tha black number plate thing but i took it off
Maybe GT with 3sfe is inported ? GTR is made in NZ 3sge engine ? Zr is NZ made 3sfe but waht about GT4 ??
and wouldend it not matter if GTR was made here or japan JDM because they use around the same octane ??
i dont no plz dont blow me up about this lol because im probley all wroung just telling ya wat i THOUGH and see

ooooooo shit u have an NZ GTR celica? they're rare as hens teeth!!!! u got show me pics of it!!!!! nooooow chappys this is the difficult but (btw this only applys to nz) the NZ GT celica was made in 1986 ONLY then from then on they made a GT and a GTR the GT was a coupe (extremely rare these days) and the GTR was the liftback, what year is your celica? coz thats what it'll be. NO repeat NO ZR's had 3SGE's and the ZR's were imported only with an SFE. Any celica vairant containing the letters GT had the 3SGE in it. haha well enough on this topic eh? this is driving is insane. You gota show me pics of ur NZ new celica send em to my e-mail dude cheers

Mines an 86 GTR imported in 94. Look on your rego tag thingy and it will say year 1986 toytota celica GTR then near that theres some little weee numbers looking something like 12/94 this means the car was 1st regersted in NZ on decemeber 1994 (like mine) if that little number on yours says x/86 it means u've got a rare NZ new version lol and no asian has touched it!!!! lucky you! Oh and thanks for reminding me.....there were a limited run of 4AGE celicas in 1986 that was the GT liftback. I've managed to track down all NZ variants of the gen 4 celica details today so i'll post ALL the details tonight to clear things up! Can anyone do this for the american celicas??? Did america ever get 4age celicas?
