So... I officially feel like a JACKASS! Turns out.. clutch still had abou 30k left according to Jeremy.. it was actually my clutch slave cylinder.. was blown leakin shit outta the boot When he said check fluids... I checked the tranny levels... NOT the resvoir.... So.. ya.. I REALLY feel like a jackass.. turned a 10 min. DIY job into something that yanked off the tranny... GRRR......

bah! axles are easy when mine broke i had to change both the damn things and it sucked. The only hard thing is getting the axle studs back in the axle with out mushrooming the heads of them.

The way he did it..
he put threaded the bolt on the edge of the axle, and then hit it w/ the hammer( so that the axle and bolt were even flat)
that worked pretty good.

I never never never unbolt the axles from the 6 studs. If you do you need to replace the studs & nuts since they are Torque to yeild which means if they are tightened once they are as tight as they will go without warping once you loosen the nut you have just warped the stud. I learned that the hardway. broke 6 sets of axles cause of problems like that. finally said screw it & had $600 chrome moly axles built & now I don't have any problems. & to get the axle out of the hub, after you loosen the axle nut (30mm) screw it back on till flush with the end of the axle & hit it with a dead blow hammer, that will prevent you from messing up your threads.
