^^ the 7th gen is still a celi no matter how you look at it, even if toyota took away many of the things that made it one of the best cars of its time(in ways). But let me remind you again, its not the cars, its the community, the cars are just what we have in common, hell theres even people on there that dont drive celicas.

Well, sure. But most 7th gen owners don't show respect for the earlier generations. Hell, most T chassis owners gape in awe at the site of a beautifully done 1st gen.. most 7th gens don't seem to have this same sense of history and heritage.
It's a different design entirely from the previous generations, and it's the last one.. So I have a hard time considering it to be a "Celica". It's just a last hurrah for a sport compact in the US market.. and just happens to wear the Celica badge.
The A chassis lasted for 3 generations. The T chassis lasted for 3 more generations.. What's the 7th gen chassis going to last for? It won't. It is the beginning of a new era, and it's the last. It's not a Celica.

Jason...although I think you're right in the sense that most 7th gen owner's don't have the respect for the earlier versions, I don't think it was a "last hurrah"... The first time I sat in a 7th gen, I fell in love, it was just so comfortable and natural... If I could afford it, I'd have a 7th gen and a 4th gen, the 4th gen just has so much heritage and just, looks so nice. Anywho.. I like the 7th gens, I like all of the generations, 5th being my least favourite, but we all have our personal tastes.

i fell in love with the 7th gens the first time i saw a silver one with the trd action package...i would love to have one of those with my 4th gen. also if you look, the 7th gen resembles the 4th in many ways, the 5th and 6th dont fit in anywhere if you go by that...no matter what you say its a celi, and they do show me respect, and my car, as i said earlier.
