I went today to see the engine I got from Jeremy. I am really excited to be a 1st gen 3sge owner with TVIS. I will be getting a engine stand next week mounting it like just as TOM is doing with his 3sge. The GE is a different beast from a 3sfe. I think it looks a bit bigger. Not only that I like the head design with the nice valve cover. Jeremy is going to help me build my GE to a 3sgte the right way. So the first step will be overhauling the internals. I am so excited.

The "bigger size" is do to the less-vertical valve angle and true DOHC (not just slave driven). I'd be excited as all hell too.

heh, the problem with mine is the fact that it still looks like that 3 months later. It looks like I'll probably go the 2nd gen route, or the GTE route. Gotta get a job first though. Good luck Joel.

things that I have in mind when I tear the block next week. i was wonder does anyone know of a black lite inspection looking for internal / external cracks?
I know I will need alot of Engine Cleaner but, is there a liquid spray that uses a black lite for inspection? Kind of like a crime scene investigation looking for finger prints.

That's the 2nd gen engine. The box thing behind the intake manifold is actually part of the manifold.

I found a larin engine for 35 dollars. Thats twice the price here at my local autozone shops. It will be here in 3 to 5 days. garage-toys.com/laenst.htmlNext on my get list is the engine hoist.garage-toys.com/la2tonhyshho.htmlWhen I get the JE Pistons.. do they come with the piston rings? $499.99 for complete set JEs and, I hear the rings ranges another 300 for a 4 set pops. Ok, can anyone tell me where can I get titanium valve springs? eh?

Then it is, don't take my word for it. The 2nd gen has an intake setup that is similar. I can't tell them apart, other than the obvious 'not a 1st gen'.

I noticed another thing....where is the distributer....or the ignitor....i guess that's prob why you can't find the spark plugs, but what's up with this thing...do they insert in the rear or something? or what? I'm gunna try to find some pics of this engine...and i'll post a link or something, that setup confuses me :-|
