Many of you probally know that my GT rocks the super awesome 2se ;D well i decided that instead of an engine swap i would build this little SOHC beast up just for the hell of it.
Over the past few weeks i have been busy building this little engine. This engine is a waste of iron and aluminum so there arent many parts made for it. Thank god i have family who owns a machine/fab shop. And thanks to the wonderful people at Scorpion exhaust who were willing to buld a header for the car. I tore the engine down on a tuesday morning and had it gutted out by 4 in the afternoon. I took the block to the shop to have it acid bathed and slightly(very very slightly bored out and the head for a light valve job and a polish and the intake manifold for a little bore and polish. Well by thursday morning it was all ready to go. I the new pistons fabbed on wensday and they were finished on friday morning. All together the bill at my uncles machine shop came to 1500$. I put the engine back together on saturday morning after calling scorpion to see fi they could build and ship the header to me. for 500 bucks i had a custom header made by them and it was shipped here within a week. The engine was put back in the car the day i got the new header which i belive was either a friday or saturday afternoon. The engine fired up and ran very smoothly from the moment it was fired. Thats when i realized i made a grievous mistake. I forgot to bolt the header to the exhaust and lit the creeper on fire. After the small blaze was put out i finished off the little things on the engine like timing it and bolting the header to the exhaust. . Now the little 2se is pushin more horse and easily takes down FE's and all of the ricey civics. It might be a stupid engine to build up but hey someone had to do it. I'll post some pics of the rebuild when i get my fil from it developed. I might take it for a dyno to see how many horses its pushin now.
