I'm not sure where the problem occures, but I've heard others give bad reveiws of the Phantom-Grip. I do know of several drivers, myself included, thats had good luck with them. You might want to check with Tom Fowler at (www.opmautosports.com), he possibly has a unit for our cars, or could get one. I did talk to a sales rep. at Toysport, who said they have a TRD unit for around $800, not a bad price for TRD anything. racerb

TRD LSD for $800 not bad at all. The only problem is its Clutch tipe and I dont feel like servicing it every year or twice a year. This Holiday put a hole in my poket, I dont have the money to work on the car, all I'm going to do right now before Feb 6 is get a new set of tires and maybe 15" rims.

Hey sorry I can't help you out money wise, but I would recommend a good wheel dealer. I bought my wheels (14") from Discount Tire, for just $56 each, and was pleasently surprised when they arrived, cause their pretty damn light. Check their site at www.tires.com, they carry most all the major brands, in fact mine were made by a division of Konig. I just went to the Rivergate Restoration web-site, their a Phantom-Grip dealer and use them on their cars, you might want to give it a look. They explain it a little better than I can, but have gotten the same results I have, which is a cheap but fuctional LSD. Their site is www.rivergate5speed.com and it's got the exact listing for our cars. racerb

My friend owns a rim shop so I can get rims for his cost. Im also going to make spacers for my car I also need to get some ARP studs. The spacers are going to coast me $40 dollers each any size, if you can find it for cheaper let me know. Also I read the Phantom Grip info and looks like they have this Green springs that are used for racing, is this what you recomand?

Yeah you got me on the wheel prices, but as far as wheel studs, I've been looking for months. The only ARPs I've found were for Hondas, meaning they have the wrong knurl for our hubs. I have found a local company that carries our exact stud, only about 1/2" longer, whereas I'm looking for something about 1"- 1 1/2" longer than stock. Where did you find the wheel spacers, as I'm also looking for a set, something like 1/4" front, 1/2" rear, would be nice. Mainly I'm looking for my longest studs to be for the rear of the car, as it seems to need it most. In the area of the LSD, I beleive that I'm going to use the Phantom-Grip, mainly just on it's cost, and it's results with the guy's around here. Like you said, the green spring kit is the way to go, it gives the holding power we need. racerb

Hey I'm going to check with the local wheel guys, at least one of them sells Eibach wheel spacers. I'm going back to the guys at the performance shop where I found the original wheel studs, I'll let you know if they have what we're looking for. Heading out of town tomorrow for the Christmas holiday, will talk to you soon, have a great holiday. racerb

Hey I've made it back, and am ready to get back to work on the Celicas. I was able to do a little work on the GT today, and have started stripping some exterior peices. I hope to work on the GTS a little this week also, but if not, there is always next week. I'll be checking on those wheel studs sometime this week, and hope to have some good news on them too. racerb

Man what kinda compression you running on that thing, sounds like a rotory engine, with it killing starters. I'm not sure where you can get a heavy duty starter, unless you rebuild a stock one with more output. There are gear- reduction starters out there, but not sure we can use them on our IT cars. Call around to your local alternator and starter rebuild shops, they might be able to fix your problem. racerb

LOL 14 to 1 ;D No I alrady know what the problem is, the header heats the starter to a point where it mealts the solders off of the wires. I opend all 3 and all had the same problem. I keep soldering the wires back onto the koil but after like a hard weekend I get the same problem.

Funny that Toysport sells the TRD LSD for $800 when TRD JAPAN sells it for $450 plus shipping to the US. I never buy anything from toysport, they are a bunch of retards.

Hey does you tranny have the starter hole that opens in both directions at the bellhousing. Mine on my GTS does, so I'm going to try the starter from the 3SFE that will be turned away from the header. I had already seen this as a possible problem, so was looking at the starter change. Also we need to check with Jeremy about that TRD Japan LSD, If he know how to get it that cheap, I'm for sure interested. racerb

WOW $450 shiped. I would be all over it if you guys can get it. And for the starter I dont think I can move it because the bellhousing is only facing left and its one with the tranny.
Happy New Year guys.
