www.importperformanceparts.net/ check this site out also. depending on the mileage i would have it bored, have the crank and rod's checked, get one of their heads. You will probably spend 1500 buck's easy if you want to get 100,000 mile's out of it,i spent that much and i didn't have the machine shop rebuild my head,i just threw new valve's in and hand lapped them. I was planning on getting one of their head's complete with cam's later on,but i lost my job and didn't do it. Now i burned and exhaust valve, only had 16,000 mile's on it,had to take off the head and the machine shop reground one of my old valve's and seat's in the #4 cyl. and i threw it back on crossing my finger's that i can get some mile's on it. Trying to get some money up so i can get one of their head's. I drive 300 plus mile's a week,so i know what you mean. Trying to cheap it out won't do,it will bite you in the ass,my car starting skipping when it was 10 degree's out had to freeze my ass of to fix it.

whats the news?
i'm doing that very thing right now.
ive removed the crank as i dont see it being any use unless the main bearing's are also replaced.
i'm going for a TTE metal head gasket, little grinding on the crank, oversize end cap shells, a new rod, new main bearings, new gaskets everywhere and a performance clutch.
get it back in the car and up the nitrous to 75.
imho, rod knock is common in the ge/gte over a hundred k if driven hard, especialy if you have no evidence of good oil for the last fitty k's.
finding parts in the uk, like mhg is hard, so it looks like a rev 1 or two GTE mhg. the clutch is hard to source too.
reckon this will cost me around 1200/1400 bucks.
dont open it just for rod shells imho. just keep the revs down and save some beans.

Yup. 87's cheap, and it's recommended by Toyota from the factory. Driving ~500 miles a week and the cost's pile up. 87 for both of the Celi's. You poor people! Our minimum fuel octane is 91 here! And i can safely say ive never used it . We have 96 and 98 octane here
