Well, I have an 88 ST sitting outside that i DONT need. we *could* litterally strip it and try and shove that thing into it. might actually work.
get an alltrac rear end and diff, shove the engine into the car, get a new core support and front body panels for the car. then strip the interior, convert to manual, and you have one hell of a race car.
~2000 lbs, ~275 hp, hell yeah ;D
BTW, i'm NOT funding this one, but i'm willing to help ;D

Well I know a v8 has been stuffed into a Celica before....and ran... So a v6 *should be no problem...or less problematic.
If I had the funds I'd be all over that shit... Can't wait till I get my career off the ground and get some equity so I can get a loan and start having fun lol

A V8 is only 4 cylinders long, the 1JZ-GTE is an inline six, so it would be *way* expensive to make it work. The V8 would probably be easier to do, but either one is a huge project.
It would be cool, though.

SBCelica on c.net stuffed a Toyota V6 into his 5th gen. (roughly the same space to work with). you cannot convert to RWD on a FWD model and expect the chassis to last more than a couple of weeks. The unibody is just not built for the torque it will put out. -Jason

I've seen a twin turbo V8 swapped into a ST185 Celica. That thing was so crazy... ;D

I don't have it now, since alltrac.net seems to be down, but I'll post it here when I can find it. It's a nice swap. It's just RWD, not AWD, but twin-turbo V8. I think it might be a 4.7L, too.
